The Digital Nomad Autónomo residency is available to sole traders or self-employed professionals. It can be obtained if you don’t have a formal employment contract and your income comes from several projects or your own business activity

The requirements remain the same as for nomads in recruitment, however, there are key differences that affect confirmation of status

If you are autónomo:

  • You must register with the social security system on your own
  • Report income and file tax returns
  • When filing tax returns, you may qualify for tax deductions
